🎫 Is it possible to obtain a visa on arrival in Mongolia?

Only a few nationalities can obtain an electronic visa on arrival in Mongolia: United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Qatar

⚠️ Despite this, and in the context of COVID-19, the authorities nevertheless recommend that these nationalities obtain an electronic visa to avoid contact on arrival.

✋ Which nationalities are exempt from visa requirements for Mongolia?

Beyond nationalities exceptionally exempt from the Mongolian visa requirement Until the end of 2025, these nationalities will not need a visa to travel to Mongolia:

  • 90 days: Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, United States, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macao, Serbia and Ukraine.
  • 30 days: Canada, Cuba, Germany, Israel, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and Uruguay.
  • 21 days: Philippines
  • 14 days: Hong Kong

⏱ When should I apply for an e-Visa?

You must apply for an e-Visa at least five days before your arrival. If you are arriving a long way away, we will accept applications but will send you your e-Visa when it is available (about a month before your arrival). 

⏳ How long is the e-Visa valid for?

The e-Visa allows you to stay one maximum of 30 days on site our 10 days for transit purposes. Once the e-Visa has been issued, you have 150 days to re-enter the country.

You can apply to extend your e-Visa from 30 additional days by starting the process online and completing it at an immigration centre in the capital. Extensions are not automatic.

🚸 Does the e-Visa also apply to minors?

Yes, minors also need an e-Visa. 

🧒 Do I need to apply for an exit permit for my child?

If a minor leaves French territory without a legal guardian, he or she must be in possession of an AST (authorisation to leave the country). This document can be requested online, and must be completed by one of the holders of parental authority. When travelling, this form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity document of the legal guardian.

💊 Which vaccinations are compulsory for Mongolia?

No vaccinations are compulsory but the authorities advise :

  • Hepatitis A
  • Hepatitis B for long or multiple stays
  • Rage for an extended stay, in isolation
  • Tick-borne encephalitis for a stay in rural or wooded areas up to 1500 metres altitude, from spring to autumn.
  • Typhoid for prolonged stays or in precarious hygiene conditions

Beyond that moment, corrections can no longer be applied. We invite you to contact us for more information.

Once the e-Visa issued, its data cannot be modified. You will need to submit a new application if your information differs significantly.
