⚠️ Despite this and in the context of COVID-19, the authorities still recommend that these nationalities obtain an electronic visa to avoid contacts on arrival.
Beyond the nationalities exceptionally exempted from Mongolian visa until the end of 2025, these nationalities do not need a visa to go to Mongolia:
- 90 days: Argentina, Belarus, Brazil, Chile, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Macao, Serbia, Ukraine and the United States.
- 30 days: Canada, Cuba, Germany, Israel, Japan, Laos, Malaysia, Russia, Singapore, Turkey, Thailand and Uruguay.
- 21 days: Philippines
- 14 days: Hong Kong
The e-Visa application must be made at least five days before your arrival. If your arrival is far away, we accept applications but we will allow us to send you your e-Visa when it is available (about one month before your arrival).
The e-Visa allows you to stay for a maximum of 30 days or 10 days in transit. Once the e-Visa is issued, you have 150 days to re-enter the country.
It is possible to apply for an extension of the e-Visa for an additional 30 days by starting the process online and completing it at an immigration center in the capital. The extension is not automatic.
Yes, minors also need an e-Visa.
If the minor leaves French territory without a legal guardian, he or she must be in possession of an AST (authorisation to leave the country). This document can be requested online, and must be completed by one of the holders of parental authority. When travelling, this form must be accompanied by a copy of the identity document of the legal guardian.
The Russian government has digitized much of its immigration process by adding Mongolian checkpoints for entering the country with an electronic visa, allowing up to 16 days in Russia.
No vaccinations are mandatory but the authorities advise :
- Hepatitis A
- Hepatitis B for long or multiple stays
- Rage for a prolonged stay in isolation
- Tick-borne encephalitis for a stay in rural or wooded areas up to 1500 meters above sea level, from spring to fall.
- Typhoid for a prolonged stay or in precarious hygienic conditions
